A multidisciplinary scientific and theoretical medical journal founded in St. Petersburg in 1916. Until 1991, it was called Archive of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology. The journal covers issues of anatomy, histology and embryology, operative surgery and topographic anatomy, cytology, neuromorphology, anthropological issues, ecological problems and morphological problems that have an application in practical medicine, as well as issues of teaching morphological disciplines in universities, the history of morphology and chronicles of scientific life.
