The journal Manuscripta Orientalia: International Journal for Oriental Manuscript Research was founded by Teza Publishing House (St. Petersburg) at the initiative of a group of St. Petersburg orientalists as an independent scholarly publication operating on a self-financed basis. The journal is published twice a year in English with the support of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the State Hermitage Museum.
